Rebecca grew up in Burns Lake and has been working in health care since 2015, beginning her career supporting seniors in care homes as a food service worker. She had always known she wanted to be part of the health services field but wasn’t sure which direction to take. What she did know was that she wanted to bring meaningful care to rural communities that often have limited access to alternative health services.

An outdoors enthusiast, Rebecca experienced her own share of aches and pains, which eventually led her to massage therapy. What started as a way to support her personal wellbeing quickly turned into a passion. She became fascinated by the holistic nature of massage therapy—looking at the body as an interconnected system, addressing root causes, and empowering people to live their lives to the fullest.

Rebecca recently graduated from OVCMT, where she had the opportunity to learn from experienced RMTs, work closely with a diverse team of supervisors, and treat community members through the school’s inreach program. These experiences strengthened her clinical skills and deepened her appreciation for client-centered care.

Now back in the north, Rebecca is excited to support the surrounding communities by offering a range of techniques—from General Swedish massage to neuromuscular and therapeutic approaches—to help clients feel their best, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. She will be eligible to challenge her boards in March, and will be offering relaxation massage treatments until then.

NOT ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

During your therapeutic massage, Annie incorporates different modalities into the deep tissue treatment, such as trigger point release, fascial release, postural awareness, and therapeutic exercises.

After graduating from OVCMT, Annie had the opportunity to work alongside a large group of massage therapists in Kelowna.

After a couple of years, Annie moved to Burnaby where she found a wonderful start up physio clinic and worked with them for a couple of years.

After some travel time to the Caribbean, Annie found herself on Vancouver Island, a place she has been wanting to call home for decades.

Life has changed a bit, and she is now very excited to try another part of the interior and call it home. She is honoured to have been part of such an incredible group of therapists, in all of the establishments, and is looking forward to joining this new amazing family at Serenity Massage.

Annie has been an animal advocate for her whole life, she volunteered at the Vancouver aquarium for many years - Marine rehab and rescue, husbandry, and beluga private tours. There have been many animal rescues through the years from equestrian therapy programs to wildlife rehab. Her love for the ocean knows no bounds. Big dreams to sail the world one day and clean the ocean along the way!

As she starts to settle in to the beautiful central interior, she is excited for the winters as her love for snowmobiling will be once again realized

She looks forward to meeting you and addressing your therapeutic needs and helping you find balance
